Understand How Your Payment Is Calculated as a Genie
Your earnings on RemoteGenies are based on your hourly rate, which is determined by your years of work experience and the client's plan. Here's exactly how it works.
Your Hourly Rate (Genie Rate)
Your rate per hour is set by the platform based on your experience level — not negotiated per task. The three tiers are:

Note: The $15.00 and $20.00 rates apply exclusively to Genies on the Top Tier plan. Entry and Mid rates apply across Pay As You Go and Advanced plans.
Your rate may also vary depending on your specific skill set and the platform tier level you're assigned to — not just years of experience alone.
How Your Earnings Are Calculated
Your pay for a task is straightforward:
Hours worked × Your Genie Rate = Your gross earnings
Example: If your Genie Rate is $8.50/hr and you complete 20 hours of work, your gross earnings are $170.00.
Hours must be tracked within the platform's time tracker to be billable. Untracked hours are not counted.
What Gets Deducted
RemoteGenies retains a platform fee from each task payment. After the deduction, your net earnings move to your Genie Wallet once the task is approved.
When you request a payout, additional deductions apply:
- Fixed Deduction Fee — a set fee per payout transaction
- Variable Deduction Fee — a percentage of the payout amount
- VAT on Fees — applied on top of the above fees
You can preview the full breakdown (including your converted PHP amount at the current exchange rate) in the payout request form before confirming. The minimum payout request is $10.00 USD.
When Does Payment Become Available?
After you mark a task complete:
- The client has 7 calendar days to review the work.
- If approved — or if no action is taken — the task is automatically approved after 7 days.
- Once approved, your earnings move from Incoming Revenue to Wallet in your Genie Wallet dashboard.
- From there, you can submit a payout request.
Payout requests must be submitted by Thursday, 11:59 PM PST during designated payout weeks. Payouts are processed the following Friday.
Which Plan the Client Is On Does Not Change Your Rate
Whether a client is on Pay As You Go, Advanced, or Top Tier, your Genie Rate stays the same for your experience bracket. The client's plan determines which tier of Genies they can access — not what you earn per hour.
- Pay As You Go and Advanced plans: Access to Entry (0–2 yrs) and Mid (3–7 yrs) Genies
- Top Tier plan: Access to Top Tier Genies (7+ years)
