Understand the Non-Solicitation Policy: What Clients and Genies Cannot Do Outside the Platform
What the Non-Solicitation Policy Covers
RemoteGenies has a non-solicitation rule that applies to both clients and Genies. The purpose is straightforward: once you connect through the platform, the working relationship — including all payments and communication — must stay on the platform.
Violating this policy is a breach of the Terms of Service and can result in account suspension, permanent removal, or legal action.
What Is Not Allowed
1. Off-Platform Hiring or Side Deals
Clients and Genies may not bypass RemoteGenies to work together privately. This includes arranging direct contracts, informal agreements, or any engagement that routes work or payment outside the platform.
2. Off-Platform Payments
All payments between clients and Genies must be processed through RemoteGenies. This applies for two (2) years from the date of first connection through the platform.
3. Sharing Personal Contact Information Before a Contract
Before a task is officially assigned, personal contact details — including email addresses, phone numbers, and social media handles — must not be shared between clients and Genies. Use GenieChat for all pre-contract communication.
Why This Policy Exists
Keeping work and payments on the platform protects both parties:
- Payment protection — funds are handled through a structured process with accountability on both sides.
- Communication records — GenieChat keeps a traceable history in case of disputes.
- Safe marketplace — vetting, coordination, and quality standards only apply to on-platform engagements.
Consequences of Violating the Policy
Breaches may result in:
- Account suspension
- Permanent removal from the platform
- Legal action
- Payment of a buyout fee where applicable
If you receive a solicitation from the other party — whether you're a client or a Genie — report it immediately through GenieChat or by contacting your Project Coordinator.
