Your data — personal, business, and project-related — is governed by formal agreements and platform controls built into RemoteGenies. Here's what that looks like in practice.
Agreements That Cover Your Data
When you engage with RemoteGenies, the following legal documents apply to how your data is handled:
- Security and Data Protection Terms — governs how your data is stored, processed, and protected within the platform
- Long Term Project Agreement — covers data handling obligations for extended engagements
- Team Engagement Agreement — applies when you work with a team of Genies
- Privacy Notice — outlines how personal information is collected and used
- Terms of Service — general platform usage terms
- Legal Disclaimer for Jitsi Use — specific terms governing video communication conducted through the platform
These agreements are accessible within the platform under your account settings.
Your Privacy Controls
You can manage certain privacy preferences directly from your profile settings. The following toggle is available under the Privacy section:
- Show Nickname Only — controls whether your full name or nickname is displayed on the platform
To access this:
- Log in to your account
- Go to View Profile
- Click Edit Profile
- Navigate to the Privacy section
- Toggle your preferred setting and save
If toggle controls are not visible in your settings, this is a known issue that has been resolved. Try refreshing your browser or clearing your cache. If the problem persists, reach out to Jinni.
Notification Preferences and Privacy
When you sign up for SMS or email notifications, a privacy disclaimer and terms apply to how your contact information is used for those communications. You can manage your notification preferences — including pop-up notifications, sound alerts, and promo updates — from the same settings area.
AI Preferences
The platform includes an Opt-In AI on RemoteGenies setting. This is opt-in by default, meaning AI features are not applied to your account without your consent. You can toggle this on or off from your profile settings.
Your Responsibilities
- Share only the information a Genie needs to complete a specific task.
- Use the platform's built-in tools for communication and file sharing — avoid moving work conversations off-platform.
- Keep your login credentials private.
