What Is RemoteGenies (and How It Works for Genies)
RemoteGenies is a freelance marketplace that connects pre-vetted Filipino freelancers — called Genies — with clients worldwide. As a Genie, this is the platform where you find work, get hired, and get paid.
How the platform works
Clients post tasks on RemoteGenies. Matched Genies bid on those tasks based on estimated hours and expertise. The client selects the Genie they want, and work begins.
Every task includes a dedicated Project Coordinator — a RemoteGenies team member who monitors progress, facilitates communication between you and the client, and helps resolve any issues that come up during the task.
What makes RemoteGenies different
- You're pre-vetted. Getting onto the platform means you've already passed RemoteGenies' screening process. Clients trust that because they're not vetting freelancers themselves.
- Task-based work. Projects are structured as discrete tasks, not open-ended contracts. Scope, hours, and deliverables are defined upfront.
- A coordinator is always in the loop. You're not working directly with clients in isolation. The Project Coordinator is there to ensure accountability on both sides.
- You're paid in USD. Earnings are paid out in USD after task completion and approval.
What to expect as a Genie
- Register and get verified. You go through registration and email verification before accessing the platform.
- Build your profile. A complete profile helps you appear in client searches and increases your chances of being matched to tasks.
- Bid on tasks. When a matching task is posted, you submit a bid with your estimated hours.
- Get hired and start work. Once selected, a coordinator joins your task thread and work begins.
- Track your hours. Use the platform's time tracker to log hours accurately — this is tied directly to your payment.
- Complete the task. The coordinator reviews the output before the task is closed and payment is processed.
Your profile and search visibility
Clients can search for Genies directly. The search algorithm prioritizes Genies with complete profiles. Genies who haven't received any ratings yet won't show star ratings on their profile cards — ratings appear once you've completed tasks and received feedback.
After registration
Once you register, you'll receive a welcome email with an email verification link. Click it to access the platform — you won't need to log in separately after verifying.
