How Pay-As-You-Go Works: Credits, Pricing, and Hiring Rules
What is Pay-As-You-Go?
Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) is a flexible, no-subscription option. Instead of a recurring plan, you purchase a block of credits upfront, use them to hire Genies, and only pay for what you need. There's no monthly commitment.
Pricing Packages
Choose from six credit packages at checkout:

How Credits Are Deducted
When you hire a Genie, credits are deducted based on the Genie's hourly rate, which is tied to their years of experience.

For example, if you purchase the $99 (10-Hour) package and hire a Genie with 0–2 years of experience at $6.50/hr, your credits are consumed at $6.50 per hour worked.
Who Can You Hire on PAYG?
PAYG clients can hire Genies with up to 7 years of work experience. Genies with more than 7 years of experience are only accessible on higher-tier subscription plans.
Credit Expiry Rules
- Credits expire 30 days after purchase.
- If you buy a new package while you still have unused credits from a previous purchase, the old credits keep their original expiry date — they are not extended.
- Each purchase carries its own independent 30-day validity window.
- When credits from multiple purchases are active at the same time, the system deducts from the batch expiring soonest first (FIFO expiry order). This minimizes waste.
Example:
- You buy a $99 package on March 1 → expires March 31.
- You buy another $199 package on March 15 → expires April 14.
- Any credit deductions from March 15 onward will draw from the March 31 batch first.
What Happens After a Successful Purchase?
Once payment is confirmed through Stripe, you'll see a Purchase Successful screen showing:
- Credits added
- Validity period
- Expiry date
You can also download a receipt from your Billing page — PAYG transactions are tagged as Completed after a successful payment.
Can You Upgrade from PAYG to a Subscription?
Yes. If you decide you want a recurring plan (Advanced or Top Tier), you can upgrade at any time. The upgrade takes effect immediately upon successful payment, and you'll receive a confirmation email. Prorated charges apply.
What's Included with Every PAYG Task?
Regardless of the package size, every task comes with a dedicated Project Coordinator to manage communication and keep your work on track.
New Client Free Credits
New clients receive $20 in free credits upon registration. These free credits follow the same deduction rates as the PAYG plan and expire 30 days from the date you claim them.
For Genies: What PAYG Means for You
If a client is on the PAYG plan, they can hire Genies with up to 7 years of experience. Your hourly rate is determined by your experience tier (see table above). Credits are deducted from the client's balance each time hours are logged against a task — your rate is fixed based on your experience bracket.
