How to Review and Approve Work Submissions
How to Review and Approve Work Submissions
This guide covers what happens after your Genie submits their output — how to review it, approve it, request changes, and what happens next. There's a section for clients and a section for Genies.
For Clients
When Does a Task Reach Review?
Once your Genie submits their final output, the task status moves to Pending Review. You'll receive a notification prompting you to check the work.
Step 1: Open the Task
Log in and go to your Task Board. Find the task under Pending Review and click it to open the task page.
Step 2: Review the Output
Inside the task page, check:
- The Chat tab — your Genie's final message, attached files, and any notes they included
- The Files tab — all uploaded documents, images, and deliverables in one place
- The Activities tab — a full log of everything done on the task
Download and review each deliverable against your original brief.
Step 3: Request Changes if Needed
If the output needs adjustments, message your Genie directly in the Chat tab. Specify exactly what needs to change. Your project coordinator is also in the chat and can help facilitate if needed.
Step 4: Approve the Work
Once you're satisfied with the output:
- Go to the Status field on the task page
- Move the status to Approved
This confirms you've accepted the work. Your coordinator evaluates the task to ensure all criteria are fulfilled before the transition is granted.
Note: Once a task has been in Approved status for 7 days with no action, it automatically moves to Completed. You'll receive a notification when the transition to Review status occurs, reminding you that you have a 7-day window to raise any discrepancies or issues. If you don't raise concerns within that period, the task closes automatically.
Step 5: Leave Feedback
After the task moves to Completed, you'll be prompted to submit feedback on your Genie. The feedback form includes:
- Satisfaction rating (1–5 stars)
- Experience tags — choose all that apply (e.g., Delivered on time, Clear communication, Attention to details, Proactive approach, etc.)
- Optional written comments
This helps your Genie improve and helps other clients make informed hiring decisions.
For Genies
Your task moves to Pending Review once you submit your final output. At that point, the client reviews your work and decides whether to approve or request revisions.
- If the client requests changes, you'll see their feedback in the Chat tab. Address the changes and resubmit.
- Once the client approves the work, the task status moves to Approved.
- After 7 days in Approved status without a dispute, the task automatically transitions to Completed.
- You'll receive an in-app notification for status updates, including when your payout request is approved.
Status Flow Summary
| Stage | Who Acts | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| Pending Review | Client | Reviews submitted output |
| Approved | System / Client | Client approves; 7-day window begins |
| Completed | System (auto) | Task closes after 7 days if no dispute raised |
Key Things to Know
- The 7-day window starts when the task is approved. Raise any issues before it closes — once the task moves to Completed automatically, the dispute window has passed.
- Your project coordinator is involved throughout. They verify that work meets requirements before approving the status transition.
- All communication about revisions or issues should happen inside the task's Chat tab — not outside the platform.
