Understand RemoteGenies' Non-Solicitation Policy
What the policy covers
Once you connect with a Genie through RemoteGenies, all work arrangements and payments between you must stay on the platform. Attempting to hire a Genie directly — outside of RemoteGenies — is a violation of the Terms of Service.
This applies regardless of how the contact happens: whether you reach out to a Genie directly, a Genie approaches you, or the arrangement starts informally.
What you cannot do
- Hire a Genie off-platform. You may not arrange work privately or set up direct employment or freelance contracts with a Genie you met through RemoteGenies.
- Process payments outside the platform. All compensation for work must go through RemoteGenies — not via bank transfer, PayPal, cash, or any other method.
- Share or request personal contact details before a task is assigned. Email addresses, phone numbers, and social media handles should not be exchanged before a task is officially active. Use GenieChat for all pre-task communication.
Why this rule exists
The policy protects both parties. Keeping work and payments on the platform ensures there is a record of agreements, accountability for deliverables, and access to dispute resolution if something goes wrong. It also keeps the marketplace sustainable — RemoteGenies' ability to vet Genies and provide project coordination depends on transactions staying in-platform.
Consequences for violations
Breaches of the non-solicitation policy can result in:
- Account suspension
- Permanent removal from the platform
- Legal action, which may include payment of a buyout fee
This applies to both clients and Genies. If you become aware of solicitation happening — from either side — flag it to your project coordinator immediately.
If you want to continue working with a specific Genie long-term
That is fully supported on the platform. RemoteGenies offers long-term engagement options. Talk to your project coordinator about setting up an ongoing arrangement within the platform rather than outside it.
